Cleaning Operative

A vacancy has arisen for a factory cleaner to keep on top of general housekeeping in our busy production departments; warehouse areas; offices and washrooms.

The successful candidate must be self-motivated to complete the necessary tasks and will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, clean and hygienic environment within the premises at which they work.

Applicants should be capable of using cleaning machinery including floor cleaners and vacuum cleaners, and prepared to work alone. Some lifting will be required.  Cleaning may consist of brushing, mopping, sweeping, dusting, polishing and wiping.  PPE and tools will be provided.

Hours of work are Monday - Friday daytime - 30 to 40 working hours per week - working times are negotiable to suit individuals

Automotive Powertrain Advisor

A vacancy has arisen within our busy sales team for an Automotive Powertrain Advisor who ideally comes from an automotive parts supply/service environment.
 
Key responsibilities will be to:

  • Answer incoming telephone & email enquires promptly & professionally;
  • Accurately identify the correct major unit for the customers vehicle using various parts lookup systems & catalogues;
  • Quote relevant cost & availability of major unit;
  • Create & process sales orders using Sage 200.
 
Ideally the successful candidate will:
 
  • Possess previous automotive parts supply experience;
  • Have excellent communication & customer service skills;
  • Have experience of using Microsoft 365 & Sage 200, although not essential as full in-house training will be provided;
  • Possess a positive proactive attitude & display an ability to identify solutions to problems.

 
Hours of work will be Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) from 08:30 to 17:30 with a 20-minute morning break & a 30-minute lunch break (42.5 hour working week).

Engine Machining Operatives

Varied and challenging vacancies have arisen within our expanding engine machining services workshop team for two positive and keen individuals with a passion for engines and the restoration of all engine components.
 
The machining services team work on a large variety of engine types from motorcycle engines; cars and commercial vehicles to large agricultural; rivercraft and also many forms of motor sports including V8’s; professional; amateur; and classic racing series’.
 
Both positions involve a varied range of duties, some of which include:
  • pressure testing of cylinder heads for cracks and porosity;
  • full cylinder head re-working including disassembly and assembly;
  • cutting of valves and seats;
  • skimming of critical faces;
  • re-grinding and balancing of crankshafts;
  • cylinder block re-boring and re-sleeving;
  • resizing and bushing of connecting rods.
 
Training will be provided, so whether…
  • you have machining experience or not - but you are interested and enthusiastic about being fully trained to machine and restore engine components to precision tolerances;
  • or if you have had previous experience in any form of hands on mechanical or machining operations or amateur DIY mechanics;
  • or if you are a professional mechanic in the garage trade but thinking about a change in direction within the motor industry…

Aftersales Controller

We are seeking an Aftersales Controller to join our warranty team to:
  • provide comprehensive warranty reports;
  • co-ordinate all aspects of warranty replacement products;
  • co-ordinate all aspects of vehicle repairs as and when required;
  • provide the highest level of customer service;
  • provide general information and advice to end-users, customers and suppliers;
  • complete all warranty paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
A sound mechanical knowledge of engines, gearboxes and turbos is essential.  Warranty experience is desirable but not essential.

Hours of work are 08:00 to 17:30 Monday to Friday (45 hour working week)

Gearbox Department

An additional operative is required to strip; inspect; reassemble and pick components for gearboxes whilst working to build plans and schedules.

Production Hours:  Monday to Thursday 07:30 to 16:30 with 20 minutes paid morning break, half hour unpaid lunch and Friday 07:30 to 13:30 with 20 minutes paid morning break  (40 hour working week)

Engine Remanufacturing Operative

Due to expansion, vacancies are opening in several production departments for engine remanufacturing operatives.  Duties will range from stripping, inspecting, cleaning, reassembling and picking components for engines.

Ideally the successful candidate for the above role will have previous experience of engineering, machining and/or engine work, possess a positive attitude and display the ability to identify solutions to problems.  In-house training will be provided.

Crank Grinder / Machinist

We require a crank grinder/machinist to join our team in the crank department.
 
Ideally the successful candidate will have:
  • previous experience of precision engineering or a basic knowledge of machining (in-house training will be provided);
  • Be competent in measuring in both metric and imperial using a micrometer;
  • Be keen to learn and work well within a team environment;
  • Possess a positive attitude and display the ability to identify solutions to problems.
